Every interaction trains your horse. My approach focuses on making you both a better rider & trainer by helping you understand how to communicate clearly and effectively, to reinforce the right responses from your horse. The goal is to give you the skills to train more efficiently and create a safer, happier horse and rider combination in the long run.
All riders are welcome - whether you’re just starting out, an experienced rider, riding for pleasure or working towards competition goals in Dressage or Showjumping. Coaching can be ridden, groundwork-based, or a combination of both, depending on you and your horse. Groundwork is a big part of what I teach, helping riders develop the same clear communication from the ground that we ultimately want in the saddle.
Lessons are available to riders with their own horse.
I believe that experience both in and out of the saddle is necessary for strong coaching. I have competed for many years, ridden a wide range of horses internationally, and worked as a rider for other professional riders. Over the past five years, coaching independently and across two riding schools has exposed me to many different riders and horse-and-rider combinations, strengthening my ability to adapt and communicate effectively.
I hold a Diploma of Equitation Science from ESI, a qualification for horse trainers and coaches grounded in learning theory, horse behaviour, biomechanics, evidence-based training and equine welfare. I am also fully insured as a professional equestrian coach and trainer.
No two horses or riders are the same, so I tailor my coaching to each individual partnership, their needs and their goals - with the horse’s welfare always at the centre. I will encourage and support you while being honest about what can be improved or needs to change to ensure training remains fair, effective and positive for your horse.
